I decided to extend the location of my food adventure to not only to the bay area but everywhere elseeeee.. Only because I went to SD for vacation and wanted to try Vietnamese food with my friend Lily when we were heading back to LA. We originally were trying to go to this really good dessert place called Snow Monster and accidentally came across this Vietnamese plaza. We were pretty hungry and couldn’t decide which restaurant to go to so we went to the most crowded one.

Quan Hy was pretty crowded but it was full of Vietnamese people so it HAD to be authentic and worth the wait! We sat down and ordered different plates. I really enjoyed Lily’s grilled chicken and deep fried sticky rice. It wasn’t what I was expected, I didn’t know it would be sweet at all, but it was a nice touch with the grilled chicken. The grilled chicken was really awesome and crunchy! There were also no bones. Buri’s vermicelli plate was delicious too! The egg rolls were real tasty and the meat was tender.

My plate was good too! I didn’t eat the salad, but the shrimp on the rice was really good! and the grilled pork was yummy. 🙂 Overall the service was decent and the food came out fast. I liked Lily’s plate the best! I’m glad we chose this restaurant. It was authentic according to Lily and I think Pho would have been too basic. Ahaha but yeah! Any suggestions for the next country choice?!
